Our Staff

We have a wonderful team of 10 staff here at Chestnuts led by our Manager and are fortunate to have a high number of qualified staff, eight of which are qualified to Level 3.  In addition we also employ staff to support children with specific needs on a 1:1 basis.

Sarah Jacques - Manager

Sarah joined us as a trainee practitioner in the summer term of 2013 having worked with us previously as a 1:1 support worker and qualified during her time as a key person here at Chestnuts . Having previously managed a local out of school club, Sarah became Manager in April 2014 bringing lots of experience and new ideas to the role. She is also our Special Education needs coordinator ensuring all children are able to reach their full potential. Sarah is responsible for and manages the setting and also many administrative duties working in the office every day except for Wednesday when our Administrator/Key person Kathryn Anderson is in the office.

Marion Breakspear - Deputy Manager

Marion is our Deputy Manager and is one of our longest serving members of staff. She is our Language Lead Practitioner (LLP) who coordinates the enhancement of Language Development within the setting and works closely with the manager to support the staff. She is also key person for approximately 10 children.

Kathryn Anderson - Administrator & Early Years Practitioner

Kathryn has been our administrator for the last 13 years. She carries out some administration duties on a Wednesday, including coordinating admissions, funding applications and show rounds.Kathryn is available to show prospective families around on a Wednesday if you are considering Chestnuts for your child.She also works as a key person for 4  children.

Lindsey Preston - Early Years Practitioner

Lindsey is one of our Early Years Practitioners  and in the absence of Sarah or Marion is responsible for leading the session. She is also a Key person for approximately 10 children.  She is currently our Child Protection Lead Practitioner (CPLP).

Part of this role involves her attending meetings and feeding back to staff any updates or changes to support safeguarding within the setting.

Sue Tabb -  Early Years Practitioner

Sue is another of our Early Years Practitioners. She has a wealth of experience including supporting children with additional needs.  She currently is key person for approximately 10 children and also leads the session on the absence of Sarah and Marion.

Rachel Gammon -  Early Years Practitioner

Rachel is another of our Early Years Practitioners having joined us in 2009, first as a lunch club supervisor before joining the team as a key person. Rachel originally qualified as an NNEB  and now has responsibility for approximately 6 key children. 

Georgia Watts - Early Years Practitioner

Georgia has recently joined us and has worked with children in other local settings for 10 years gaining a wealth of experience. Georgia completed a BA (Hons) Degree in Children's Development and Learning in December last year. She also has experience working with children with additional needs and safeguarding. Georgia is key person for approximately 8 children.

Sonia Bath and Sue Thompson - Assistants

Our assistants have been with us for many years and support the Early Years Practitioners in their role. They prepare healthy snacks for the children and support the children in their learning throughout the session. 

Goulla Xanthoulis, Ellen Winfield and Shelina Grambow 1:1 Support

Goulla, Ellen and Shelina provide assistance to children who may need a little additional support whilst at Chestnuts.
